Become a volunteer
In the past year, the Society team has accomplished many tasks thanks to the help, dedication and skills of our volunteers. Many new programmes are also being developed to meet the wider interests of our members and visitors. Please join our dynamic group of volunteers!

Our volunteer opportunities may range from a one-time event to ongoing involvement in specific activities. Volunteer tasks include the following:

Event Planning and Organization : We usually need help with the organization and setting up of cultural events at the Centre. You can also contribute to programmes and events by becoming a lecturer, a performer or by providing expertise in subjects relevant to our programmes.

Mobile library service : Our mobile library service delivers books to members - with temporary or permanent disability - who are not able to come to the library. Volunteers in this section are highly appreciated.

Committees : Have you ever considered joining a LHSQ committee? When you choose to serve on a committee, you open up a world of possibilities for networking, personal touch and contribution. It's the best way to get more involved in the Society. These groups include: the LHSQ Council, , the Steering and Fundraising Committees, the Book Committee and Canadiana Development Committee . Volunteer participation is the backbone of our Society.

Newsletter articles : Would you like to write an article and have it published in the Society Pages?

Educational programmes : Volunteers who enjoy working with children or school groups may assist in the preparation of activities (with an emphasis on history and learning) for this new clientele for the Centre. This is a very rewarding activity.

Admission and information : Visitors and guests to the Morrin Centre will need guidance and information on our services and activities. Volunteers may also deal with admission fees.

If you're interested in becoming a LHSQ volunteer, please print and fill out our volunteer application form. You can also send us your resume, interests, availabilities and contact information via email at info@morrin.org or regular mail and we will get back to you shortly.
