SLC/PAC – Quebec Food with Catherine Ferland
The Sharing-Learning-Creating/Partager-Apprendre-Créer project is a bilingual project that aims to promote Quebec culture and build bridges between the anglophone and francophone communities of Quebec.
In this event, historian Catherine Ferland will talk about the culinary heritage of Quebec and Ireland, about the Quebec anglophone community, and about the culinary cultural exchanges between various cultural communities of Quebec. You will find food for thoughts in this culinary presentation!
Catherine Ferland is a Doctor in History, an author, and a specialist in cultural and culinary history. She was an editor for 5 years for the Encyclopédie du patrimoine culturel de l’Amérique française. While working on her own research projects, she also acts as an expert on history and heritage for museums, interpretation centres, publishing houses, businesses, and government organizations. She writes regularly for many national magazines and media. She is the editor of Biscuits Leclerc, une histoire de cœur et de pépites (Septentrion, 2020) and Bacchus en Canada. Boissons, buveurs et ivresses en Nouvelle-France (Septentrion, 2010), a book nominated at the Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards. |
