Throughout the upcoming In These Spaces project, participants will explore a diverse set of subjects using the Morrin Centre’s spaces as a backdrop. Guests – Isaac Chalk, Brett Molzan, Ryan Molzan and Alexandre Sauvaire
The Canadian viola player Isaac Chalk is solo viola for the Violons du Roy since 2013. With the Violons, he regularly performs in Quebec and in the biggest concert halls in the world. M. Chalk has a degree from Mozarteum, in Salzbourg, and from McGill University, where he received the prestigious Golden Violin. | |
The violinist Brett Molzan is a member of the Arthur-LeBlanc Quartet and a guest teacher at Université Laval, where he teaches violin and chamber music since 2005. Among his 15 albums is a Shostakovich quartet cycle. He has performed in concerts throughout the United States and Canada, as well as in Europe and in Japan. | |
Ryan Molzan is the cellist of the Arthur-LeBlanc Quartet and a guest teacher in the music faculty of Université Laval. Beyond his mastery of his instrument and his sensitivity to musical nuances, Ryan is known for his collaborative approach to musical performances. In addition to his work at Université Laval and in the Arthur-LeBlanc quartet, Ryan is frequently invited to join the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the Violons du Roy. | |
Alexandre Sauvaire is a French violinist living in Quebec City with his family since 2015. He has degrees from the Paris conservatory in violin, chamber music, ethnomusicology, and pedagogy. Since then, he has performed in concerts in Europe, North American, South America, Africa, Asia and Russia. In Quebec City, he mainly participates in the musical life of the city by playing with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the Violons du Roy, but also with smaller, specific projects in places like the Trident theater and the Diamant. |
