Postcards from Quebec – Cultural Fairs – Africa
The second event of the Postcards from Quebec series will take place at the Morrin Centre on November 26, from 1 to 3 p.m.. Join us and enjoy music, dance, food, and an African dance workshop in an Africa-themed cultural fair! All activities are free.
Mohamed Keita is a percussionist and dancer born in Conakry, Guinea. Before moving to Quebec City, he had a career of over ten years giving performances with different African ballet groups such as Soleil d’Afrique, Azita Danse and Dibaї. Since 2018, he has been working as a professional artist here in Quebec City, giving workshops to young students, as part of the program La culture à l’école, and teaching African dance to adult groups. He also performs as percussionist and dancer with groups Djembé Québec, Balafola, Kononi, and Les Voix du Faso.
