Come meet youth author Cary Fagan!
Cary Fagan (he/him) has been called a “beloved” children’s writer by Quill & Quire. He is a recipient of the Vicky Metcalf Award for Young People for his body of work.He has also won the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award, the IODE JeanThroop Award, a Mr. Christie Silver Medal, and the Joan Betty Stuchner—Oy Vey!—Funniest Children’s Book Award. His picture book, Mr. Zinger’s Hat, was given to every grade one student in the country and his work has been translated into French, Italian, German, Dutch, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Turkish, Macedonian, Persian, Russian, Hebrew, Polish, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Cary is also a much-acclaimed author of books for adults, including The Student (finalist for the Governor General’s Award for Fiction), A Bird’s Eye (finalist for the Rogers Trust Fiction Prize), and My Life Among the Apes (longlisted for the Giller Prize).
