S.T.E.A.M Club: Anime Drawing Workshop
This week, we will do an Anime Workshop with Cindy Courchesne.
Cindy Courchesne is a teacher who always wanted to turn the impossible into possible. She reconnected with her passion for manga drawing in 2016 after spending 15 years without even touching a pencil. When she started drafting again, her drawings were at the same level has a 12 year old. It could have discouraged her, but instead she started looking for a manga teacher who could help her become better. Unfortunately, she realised that no one was teaching how to draw manga in Quebec, so, she didn’t have other choice but to start to learn on her own. After getting all the knowledge she needed, she decided to create her manga school in 2018 to help people who wanted to draw manga like her, to have answers to their questions. She wanted to help them become better faster and to give them the chance she didn’t have.
Today, in 2024, Cindy has the opportunity to go through all the different schools, libraries, community centers and events in Quebec city, to share her passion and help as many people as she can. She did a workshop panel at the Nadeshicon festival, was interviewed for a podcast with the fantastika’s team and even created a manga comic book with some students of Le Sommet’s school. Once more, she is about to make the impossible possible again, by publishing her first novel, greatly inspired by mangas: The Elementers secret. The message she wants to share: If I did it, you can do it too.
