Exchanges with an Expert: Nick Mahon

On Saturday, March 27, we welcome Nick Mahon to our Exchanges with an Expert series. Inspired by the concept of living libraries around the world, these events allow inquisitive members of the public to connect with experts for a casual 10- to 15-minute conversation in a virtual setting.
Nick Mahon is a trombonist in the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec. He will be online from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27.

Nick Mahon has been a member of the OSQ since September 2013. He was appointed solo trombone in 2016, and was appointed professor of trombone at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in 2019. Nick appeared as a soloist with the OSQ during the 2017 season, performing the Albrechtsberger Concerto for alto trombone. Born in London, Ontario, Nick studied at the University of Toronto. He participated in many summer festivals, including at the Tanglewood Music Centre and the Music Academy of the West. He has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, and many other Canadian orchestras. He also participated in the 2011 concours OSM, where he was awarded multiple prizes.
