Imagination 2024 – Andrew Steinmetz
Come meet author Andrew Steinmetz!
Andrew Steinmetz (he/him) is an author and life-long musician who strums the guitar and pushes a pen to make an almost-happy living. His latest novel, Because, set in the early 80s, in a local music scene brimming with post-punk ethos and a disdain for classic rock, is a wry and charming depiction of a sibling relationship founded on feverish angst, unspoken admiration, jealousy, and the pursuit of the greatest song they can write from their own room. Steinmetz has been a finalist for both the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction and the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize. In 2003, Steinmetz became the founding editor of Esplanade Books, the fiction imprint of Véhicule Press.
He will talk about his book Because with host Loch Baillie.
